简介:
       为了纪念梅纽因逝世十周年(梅纽因于1999年3月12日去世),EMI特别发行这套50张CD的选集,它包括梅纽因在EMI时期最著名的录音,这位小提琴大师兼指挥家前后在EMI Classics灌录唱片超过70年之久。被公认是二十世纪最著名的古典音乐家之一,梅纽因1916年4月22日出生于美国纽约,1918年全家迁至旧金山,他四岁开始在那里向Sigmund Anker学习小提琴。七岁时小梅纽因首度公开演出,与他那时的老师Louis Persinger合作。一年后也就是1925年,他开始举办第一场整场都由他演出的独奏会;而1926年他不仅就在纽约举行首演,稍后也与旧金山交响乐团合作拉罗的西班牙交响曲。1927年也就是梅纽因十岁时,他即前往欧洲,在巴黎首度演出,与指挥Paul Paray以及拉穆卢管弦乐团合作。回到纽约后,1928年他与布许/纽约交响乐团合作协奏曲,同年更在Victor公司的支持下首次录音。 1929年前梅纽因而言相当决定性:他获得一把斯特拉底瓦里名琴、首度前往柏林,在华尔特/柏林爱乐的合作下演出、向布许开始学习、在伦敦首演并为HMV开始录音。1931年梅纽因开始进行协奏曲录音:布鲁赫第一号小提琴协奏曲;而1932年也就是他16岁时,他录下后来成为持续受瞩目的一张名盘:与作曲家艾尔加以及伦敦交响乐团合作,灌录艾尔加的小提琴协奏曲。这件事将梅纽因推向国际知名小提琴大师的行列中,他也开始为EMI灌录大量的唱片,以小提琴家与指挥家的身份一直活跃在乐坛。
