狂兄...我在AOK Heaven向Kor提問了Cliarthaire,Arras和Manessic Knight。得到了一位熱心的網友和Kor的回復,如下:
來自HerzogDePuce這位熱心網友回復:
I asked Kor about these terms once. From what I remember, "Cliarthaire" meant "highlander". Kor's explanation I wrote on the wiki was "a regular soldier".
"Arras" was the term for a higher social class in Scotland, something like a nobleman or rich landowner, I suppose.
According to my research, a manessic knight is a knight who behaved according to the Codex Manesse(Heidelberger Liederhandschrift) that, how I understand it, defined Chivalry and courtly behaviour/Minnesang(courtly love songs).
EDIT: Lately watched a documentary that mentioned the Codex Manesse in this particular context. It's furthermore the behaviour that knights prove at tournaments.
According to Wikipedia, the codex was produced by the noble Swiss family of Manesse, hence the name.
來自Kor的回復:
I didn't come up with the Gaelic names myself - Andrew provided them. He is Scottish and a native Gaelic speaker, studied Gaelic culture and language at university and has since published a first novel in Gaelic. As these are old words that have fallen out of use, they don't appear in modern dictionaries (as is the case with many terms used in Age of Chivalry).
HerzogDePuce is correct, however. A cliarthaire was a regular warrior, whereas an arras was a minor nobleman.
由此可知,Arras應譯爲蘇格蘭貴族?Cliarthaire表意爲高地的人。而根據Kor的解釋應譯爲戰士?
