It did not take long before we all saw Jun with different eyes. Another memory that haunts me like an evil spirit: A pale man leaning against the wall of my hut, while my men tended to his wounds. Words came pouring out of the child's head on the man's shoulders. It was a hasty, young voice. But the more Jun spoke, the quieter everyone became.
A man nearby cleared his throat. "So... you survived because a wheel of your cart broke?"
Jun nodded weakly. A hush fell over the Ronin.
"A sign," one of them whispered. "When the wheel breaks..."
"A sign", somebody else agreed and then, a breathless silence hovered over the camp.
"I don't understand", said Jun, but even while he spoke, he suddenly sat upright, and a new little sparkle came in his eyes. Our faces were beaming. Everyone leaned in closer. The man with the child's head was a revelation.
I cannot forget it.

### NORMAL HINTS ###
This game is difficulty-level-dynamic. On Standard, you get strong units and weaker enemies; on Moderate, you have fewer upgrades and your enemies will pack more punch. On Hard, the enemy will have an even bigger advantage.
SECURING THE VILLAGES
If Akira is near any of his units AND fighting (targeting any enemy), his men will slowly heal. That means: You must fight to heal. Does that sound like a contradiction? Well, fighting is the essence of a samurai's life!
The events and conversations at the villages and the lumbercamp might vary. If you replay this scenario, try to visit them in a different order next time.
You will receive information at all four villages. Move around them until you get into a conversation. The objectives will tell you when your task is fulfilled.
THE RONIN CAMP
If you take the back entrance, strike quickly before the Ronin recover from their shock.
If you take the front entrance, get Akira into the towers as soon as possible. Don't ungarrison him until he has finished his work, or face the consequences. Akira will leave the respective tower himself at the right time.
MOUNTED SAMURAI AT THE BLACKSMITH
Save your game. No matter if Akira uses the glowing sword or not, a stiff fight waits for him.
Find a spot where Akira gets an uphill advantage, and where only one rider can get to him at once.
Luck is not involved if Akira knows what he is doing.

SPOILERS: SECURING THE VILLAGES
There are ways to cheat yourself to more healing. If you find any of them, well done. If you still *don't* use them, you really have the fearless heart of a samurai. ;-)
How difficult this scenario is depends very much on the order in which you do things.
SPOILERS: THE RONIN LEADER
The Ronin leader has a different fighting style than Akira. He will stay in his place, waiting to catch Akira with his spear while Akira is attacking.
When Akira targets him and is near, the Ronin leader will attempt a mel閑 attack. After that attack, some seconds will pass.
Once Akira finds out how to trick the Ronin leader, he can provoke the counter-attack while he is still out of reach, *then* jump in, launch one or two hits. Then step back again before the Ronin leader counters.
The Ronin leader also knows how to throw a spear. Keep Akira moving. Don't try to walk away too far. Don't always attack from the same side. Don't rest in the same place for too long. The spear thrusts are very, very hard to dodge.
If you play this on Hard, you have the option to select the Swordmaster Level. This makes the Ronin leader much more unpredictable and devastating in his moves.
SPOILERS: MOUNTED RONIN AT THE BLACKSMITH
There are at least *two* spots which give Akira an uphill advantage, and which are so narrow that only one horseman can attack him at a time. "Stand ground" may help to keep Akira in his place.
Even in the narrow spots, Akira should watch out how he positions himself. Find the perfect stance. If Akira still allows two riders to get at him at the same time, well... you DID save your game, didn't you?
The fight can be won with or without the daimyo's sword, in both spots, and on all difficulty levels.
SPOILERS: JUN
If a single samurai or hand cannoneer blocks your path, thrust a well-aimed sharpened stick at him. Samurai may be well-armored, but Jun is very good at aiming and may hit the vulnerable spot at the throat. You might also try to run past such a samurai, but do so only if you are sure his sword cannot reach you. Jun may be injured from behind if he stops to throw a stick, but these injuries are not half as bad as the ones from the samurai blades.

Defeat the Ronin leader.
- The Ronin leader will counter with his spear shortly after Akira gets near *and* targets him. - Find out how he moves. Feint to provoke his counter early - target and stop. Then jump in and strike! And back before he counters again! - The Ronin leader will also thrust a spear whenever Akira offers himself as an easy target. Be nimble. Be quick. Be everywhere and nowhere.

Before you start to fight the Ronin leader, you can now choose between two levels:
a) HARD: Select the house behind the Ronin leader. This plays like on moderate, but you'll take more damage if you blunder. Definitely recommended the first time you play this duel.
b) SWORD MASTER: Select the Ronin leader. Warning: This level is insanely difficult, because the Ronin leader also tries to trick you! Just hitting and stepping back in the right rhythm is not enough anymore. Definitely NOT recommended the first, or even the second time you play this duel.
