Yes, the title doesn't lie. With the Tribal Wars successfully finished, it is now time to turn our attention to a slightly different but no less exciting kettle of fish. And with the recent lack of 2v2 mode and little changes in team rosters, the time is ripe for a tournament of nations. This time we are not going to watch RVK and TyRanT battling it out but Brazil and Norway instead. But even more importantly, we're going to watch more than just AoC since 5 new civlisations are going to be added to the table.
In a nutshell, the team behind the expansion Forgotten Empires has been hard at work preparing an AoFE 2v2 Nations Cup. Since the public beta has yet to be released, the tournament is for AoFE beta team members and invited teams only. However, the absence of recorded games will be more than made up for by live streams with commentary by ZeroEmpires, Cysion, FeAge, Dreams and others, as well as frequent news posted right here.
And now to the most important part: What countries and players are involved? Well, it is certainly going to be a show worth seeing as all teams are around or over 2000 in rating. There are 9 of them in total and they're going to compete in round robin, fighting one opponent every week, which gives us a total of 4 matches streamed live per week. The countries involved are: Norway (Viper, Badtrip), Brazil (FeAge, Thor), China (VG_Paladin, Geoffrey), Germany (Bender, Bleys), Argentina (Gary, Millo), Czech republic (Skull, Yezris), USA (Hasan, whack), France (Nola, VM) and United Kingdom (FayT, …). Each match/round will consist of five maps (both new AoFE maps and original, improved ones) and will include various combinations of both new and old civlisations.
And when does this awesomeness begin? Right now. First round starts on Monday 23rd and we expect to have first matches streamed live around the weekend. The AoFE standings and schedule of round 1 can be seen at the bottom of this post. The standings will be updated regularly with each finished match and when possible, interviews with players involved will be held live before/after the matches on one of our streams. The time and date of scheduled matches will be announced here as well as information about which stream channel to tune in to for live show.
